The group is taught by Robert Huggett. Robert joined the English Civil War Society in 1980, and has been going to re-enactments ever since. He became seriously interested in both domestic living history and early dance in 1987. Since discovering early dance he has been to workshops by as many different teachers as has been practical, including workshops by several well known teachers from the continent. In this time he has amongst other things choreographed professional presentations, and danced semi-professionally at Hampton Court. He has been running Basingstoke Early Dance since 1993. Robert has been playing early music since 1984 (Lute, Recorders and recently Rauschpfiefe).
Robert is available to teach workshops in any of the known French, English or Italian dance styles popular between 1450 and 1650.
